An open water swim can be the most intimidating aspect of a triathlon for many people, especially those new to the sport. This new safety device from Tri-Aids just may be that little measure of comfort that drops your level of anxiety enough to either sign up for a race or enjoy it from start to finish.
The Swimsafe is approved for all USAT races and is designed to be worn around your waist during an open water swim. If you find yourself in some difficulty, you can pull the cord and a CO2 cartridge inflates a bladder in approximately 5 seconds. The inflated bladder can than be rotated around your neck so you can float without effort until rescued. Please note that if you activite the device you will be disqualified from the race.
