Cervelo’s LCS triathlon singlet is part of its outstanding range of triathlon clothing. Judging by the very high quality of its clothing, you’d never guess that Cervelo has only been in the business for a couple of years. The LCS singlet, for example, is a well-made, cool, lightweight jersey that works well for running and cycling. Moreover, it’s not so triathlon-specific to be useless for the Thursday night group bike rides.
While the LCS top fits tighter than a normal cycling jersey, it’s not quite as tight as a one-piece triathlon suit. Cervelo describes the LCS top as having a slightly looser fit than its Alpha and Apollo Pro tops. As such, it is primarily intended for long course events. However, if your not wearing it under a wetsuit, you must be willing to put it on in T1. I tried the LCS during training and would not recommend using it by itself for swimming, as the rear pockets and non-slick surface will slow down progress in the water.
The LCS shines during the bike leg, with excellent quick-drying fabric, ample back pockets and a long zipper for when the weather gets hot. I wore this top recently during a USCF time-trial event * and was very pleased with the lack of flapping material and the resulting noise of the same.
Running in the LCS top is no problem at all. The material wicks sweat away quickly, and the light weight of the material will not slow you down.
Along with the excellent fit and quality mentioned, the LCS is an excellent value for the money, running $50 to $55 depending on your source. For this price you can mix and match this piece with different shorts, depending on the race/ride length, and end up with an unbeatable combination.

* USCF rules require racers to wear sleeved jerseys during all sanctioned events. I was plain lucky they let me race, but you shouldn't count on it.
