TgR rates products in 4 categories - Performance, Quality, Aesthetics and Value.
For each category, a value between 1 and 10 is given for a product.
For a TgR review, a value of 5 (shown above) represent an "average"
product rating - neither good nor bad. Any value above 5 represents a
better-than-average rating, while a value below 5 represents a
worse-than-average rating.
Note that many sites use a school-like scoring system, where 7 represents a
marginal rating. We feel that this system reduces the usefulness of the rating
system, forcing 80% of all products into an 8 rating. Our system provides for a
truly granular system, one in which outstanding products are rewarded and
sub-par products are shown to be just that.
